Masaki Sai1966~ 齋正機

SAI Masaki (born 1966) is a Japanese-style painter (nihonga) from Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture. He graduated from Fukushima Higashi High School in 1984, completed his undergraduate degree in Japanese Painting at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1992, and finished his graduate program there in 1994. He won the Grand Prize at the Kitakata City Museum of Art's "Hometown Landscape Exhibition" in 1998 and has received numerous awards since. His works have been featured annually on Toho Bank's calendars since 2011. He is known for his gentle, softly rendered depictions of Aizu landscapes, including the storehouses of Kitakata, Mount Bandai, and the Tadami Line trains, as well as works featuring children created in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake.
