Mitsue Saito1948~ 齋藤満栄

Saito Mitsue (born 1948) is a Japanese-style (Nihonga) painter from Niigata Prefecture who graduated from the Japanese Painting Department of Tama Art University in 1972. She debuted at the 64th Reconstituted Inten in 1979 with "White Blossom" and has since centered her career on the Japan Art Institute exhibitions. She received the Foreign Minister's Prize at the 48th Spring Inten (1993) for "Cosmos," the Japan Art Institute Prize (Taikan Prize) at the 85th Inten (2000) for "Autumn Morning," and the Minister of Education Prize at the 100th Inten (2015) for "Clematis." She was elected as a Dojin (full member) of the Japan Art Institute on October 24, 2006.
